For many student recruiters it is in their particular interest to recruit students from China. But since no one can cover the sun with a finger, Chinese students also have their own preference when making their decision on where to study abroad.
According to a research made by the UNESCO Institute of Statistics in 2014 about the Global Flow of Tertiary-Level Students, Chinese students seems to have a strong preference to study abroad in the United States, where in 2012 around 225, 474 Chinese students enrolled in a programme.
Japan and Australia are positioned as the second and third most preferred study abroad destinations for Chinese students. United Kingdom and Korea rank 4th and 5th respectively according to research conducted by the UNESCO Institute of Statistics.
